Tony ArmstrongTony Armstrong, Managing Director of BMD Global is widely recognised in the UK as one of Britain's most dynamic, entrepreneurial and pragmatic business leaders and has an outstanding reputation of delivering a real, measurable improvement in results for many companies — across a broad spectrum of business sectors. Clients range from truly Global / International businesses to UK plc's FTSE 500's; Small Medium Enterprises and occasionally, Owner-Managed businesses.

Classically trained, with a family tree that links him back to the Hon. C S Rolls of The Rolls Royce Motor Company, Tony relished all the challenges of a variety of sales roles in a corporate environment within UK divisions of Barclays Bank plc — and gained vast experience particularly in senior sales roles with Barclaycard Visa Merchant (Retail) Services and latterly, Company Barclaycard Visa.

Selling these services to corporate entities such as The London Stock Exchange, Microsoft and British Oxygen developed his key skills through real world application, learned at the 'school of hard knocks' in all areas of commerce!

Following his success in the banking sector, Tony took the natural step into Business and Management Consulting well over ten years ago, where he learned his New Business Development 'craft' in the fiercely competitive market place of sales and management training.

This role was totally orientated to new business development and required a high level of tenacity and acumen in picking up the 'phone to make appointments with senior decision-makers of targeted companies. Over the years therefore, Tony has built up an enviable reputation for 'opening doors from cold' — at the highest levels of industry!

In addition, he has recently written a salesperson's guide on the topic, which shares some of the helpful hints, tips and ideas on how best to tackle this whole business challenge. And as Tony enthuses, 'this activity really is a mix of both art and science ... but do the activity with the right quality and direction of effort ... and it works!!'

Always a competitive sportsman, Tony manages and coaches two junior football teams, while keeping in shape with regular circuit training sessions at a local gym. Refurbishing a small boat over the last year or two has provided its own absorbing challenges and now that the boat is complete, he enjoys fishing trips and days out on the water with his family, in what is reported to be the world's second largest natural harbour on the South Coast of England in Poole, Dorset.

A committed, driven, 'passionate about business' individual, Tony is constantly fascinated with 'things selling,' networking and developing new ideas for the benefit of all in this wonderful profession.

Above everything else, he still sees himself as a salesperson first and foremost, which means that he connects to everyone through 'our universal language of sales!'
